Why certification matters

Contaminated or degraded DEF triggers SCR faults and derates. That is the whole problem in one sentence, and it usually shows up at the worst possible moment — mid-harvest, loaded, hours from anywhere useful. The fluid is not expensive and it is not scarce. What matters is whether the product that reaches your equipment still meets the concentration and purity standard it was made to, which depends on how it was handled between the plant and your tank. We deliver API-certified DEF and treat the handling as part of the product.

How delivery works

Minimum delivery is 55 gallons. DEF comes in drums, totes, or bulk fill depending on what your site can receive and store, and dispensing equipment is available for sites that need it rather than improvising a transfer method that introduces contamination at the last step. Most accounts run monthly, or pair DEF with a diesel delivery on the same stop — one arrival window, one set of paperwork, one interruption instead of two. Before the first delivery we confirm the container setup and the drop point.

Storage and handling

DEF degrades with heat, prolonged storage, and contact with incompatible materials. It also freezes at around 12°F, which sounds alarming and mostly is not — the fluid returns to spec when it thaws and the urea-to-water ratio is unaffected by a normal freeze-thaw cycle. The real risks in a Georgia climate are heat exposure and contamination, which is why transit handling and container discipline matter more here than freeze protection does.

How long does DEF last in storage?

Shelf life depends heavily on temperature. Stored cool and sealed it holds for a long time; stored hot it degrades faster than most people expect. If product has been sitting through a Georgia summer in an uninsulated container, it is worth checking before it goes into equipment.

Can DEF freeze, and does that ruin it?

DEF freezes at around 12°F. Freezing does not ruin it — the fluid returns to spec when it thaws and the urea-to-water ratio is unaffected. The practical problem is frozen supply when you need it, not damaged product.

Do you deliver DEF in totes or bulk?
