HOW IT WORKS

Keeping standby tanks ready

An uptime problem, not a fuel problem

Standby fuel is an uptime problem, not a fuel problem. A generator that will not start costs orders of magnitude more than the diesel sitting in its tank, which is why the facilities managers we work with care less about cents per gallon than about whether the tank is full, whether the fuel is still good, and whether anyone answers at three in the morning during a storm. Those are three different questions and they need three different answers.

What we handle

Scheduled top-offs keep tanks above threshold on a defined interval so nobody has to remember. Fuel polishing filters and conditions fuel in place for tanks that sit idle between tests — diesel that sits accumulates water and microbial growth, and you find out during the outage rather than before it. Load-bank testing draws real fuel down, so we schedule the refill around it. Unscheduled runs are covered when an outage draws a tank down early. Minimum delivery is 100 gallons and typical orders run 500 to 10,000.

Why the arrangement matters more than the fuel

During a widespread outage, fuel supply gets rationed by relationship. Distributors serve contracted accounts first, because those are the commitments already made. A facility calling for the first time during a regional event is competing with everyone else calling for the first time, and that is not a position you want to discover you are in. Accounts that need defined response windows can set those terms in advance, in writing. If your generator is protecting something that genuinely cannot go dark, the arrangement is the product and the fuel is how it gets delivered.

Who we deliver to

Data centers, hospitals and surgical centers, cell sites and telecom infrastructure, cold storage, water treatment, port terminal operations, and manufacturing with process-critical loads. Coastal Georgia has an unusual concentration of these, and the region's storm exposure means standby systems here get tested for real rather than only during monthly runs. We deliver across the counties listed below.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Straight answers

How often should standby generator fuel be replaced?
It depends on tank conditions and turnover, but stored diesel degrades over months rather than years. Most critical facilities polish annually and treat continuously. We will assess what your tank actually needs rather than selling you a schedule.
What is diesel fuel polishing and do we need it?
Polishing filters and conditions fuel in place to remove water, sediment, and microbial growth, without taking the tank out of service. If your tank sits idle between tests, it is usually worth doing — the failure it prevents is a generator that will not start.
Can you guarantee response time during an outage?
Accounts with a contracted arrangement have a defined response window set in writing in advance. Without one, we serve as capacity allows, and during a regional event that is a materially worse position.
Do you supply during hurricane events?
We deliver until conditions make it unsafe and resume as soon as roads open. The more useful answer is that contracted accounts get topped off before the storm, which is the part that actually protects you.
How much fuel does a standby generator burn per hour?
It varies widely with generator size and applied load. Send the nameplate rating and typical load and we will work out your runtime and refill interval with you.
