Storm season on this coast
Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, and coastal Georgia is exposed. During a named storm, roads close, access restrictions appear, and demand across the region spikes at exactly the same hour for everyone. The reliable move is topping off before a track is confirmed rather than trying to deliver during the event. On the barrier islands, causeway access closes earlier than most people expect — often before the weather actually arrives. Pre-season arrangements exist for precisely this, and they have to be set up in advance because during an event is too late.
How allocation actually works
This is the part worth understanding before you need it. During a widespread outage or a storm, fuel gets allocated by existing relationship — contracted accounts first, because those are the commitments already made. Everyone who has never called before is calling at once, and capacity is finite. If you operate something that genuinely cannot go dark, the arrangement made in March is what protects you in September. The fuel is the easy part.
